Backfire: White House charge that War on Women is all Republican
Andrew Breitbart, RIP, an obituary worth reading, even if it includes the full-bore snarkiness of the NYTimes.
Media Malpractice. The MSM has long since thrown in the towel of objectivity, becoming a de facto arm of the Democrat Party. “Once upon a time, Sharpton was covered by the media only as a colorful race hustler who stirred up trouble. Now Sharpton is the media, host of the MSNBC show Politics Nation.” If Sharpton is the media, it has hopelessly lost any chance of being taken seriously, as he is nothing but a clownish racist who can’ distinguish truth from his ugly hatred. MSNBC defense of this oaf puts it, to nobody’s surprise, outside of chance of media redemption.
Where truth and satire collide. Priceless humor; really sad and pathetic truth.
US Copies Soviets “When Vladimir I. Lenin sought to remake Russian society into a “proletariats’ paradise,” he targeted three sectors for control: health care, banking and education. Sound familiar?
Of these three, however, Lenin viewed socialized medicine as the “keystone” to building his socialist utopia.”
It wasn’t just in the 30s that Democrats idolized the Soviets. Now, what’s this about our beloved Marxist?
OTOH, If Health Insurance Mandates Are Unconstitutional, Why Did the Founding Fathers Back Them? Einer Elhauge is a professor at Harvard Law School. He joined an amicus brief supporting the constitutionality of the mandate. That cred, in my book, plus $1.50, will get you on a bus. BTW, none of the examples touched other than a tiny fraction of the economy at any of the respective years. I would call the health insurance requirements cited as conditions of employment, kind of like what the unions require, payola to the masters, which is why the battle against it in legislation which has bloomed like mushrooms this year is not called unconstitutional. I learned that lesson when I was 19 and wanted to join the Maritime Service. No job without union membership. No union membership without the payola and no guarantee of a job. That was some decades ago and nothing has changed, although it’s not the main reason why our maritime service is so puny, a subject for another time.
Fix income inequality with $10 million loans for everyone. Shiela Bair, former head of FDIC, comes up with a radical and attractive proposal. Whoda thunk that a former regulator could have such a great sense of humor?
President signs law enabling Secret Service to arrest protesters for the ‘felony’ of protesting. The most insidious totalitarian law yet? If not, damn close.
